| Situation with landowners round St Hill |

9:41 pm 15th July Last time someone on the farm next door to the sci hive very kindly allowed us to go onto the farmland to walk around St Hills perimeter. We were supervised by the police and were quiet as requested. Apparently the land owner has now supplied a letter to the scis that they've shown to the police, requesting we stay off his land. Presumably the landowner must have got some shit or misinformation from the scis.
Finding out who owns the land and writing to them/ approaching them might resolve this matter, or it might be a massive waste of time.
What does the hivemind think? |

10:29 pm 15th July Primarily - why exactly did the landowner get the scis to tell the cops we cant use his land? Why didnt he send the letter to the cops directly?
Where did you hear this? We can find out who owns the land no problem, would take me 5 minutes or so, if that. I just dont know if I believe this |

10:40 pm 15th July The land we walked on was owned by Deers Leap, a bike track area.
Sure, we entered on their land, but I was under the impression when we were outside Saint Hill fence (where they all ran in) that was a public footpath.
Last week we didn't go around Saint Hill because the people in Deers Leap were not there (it was a sunday) not because of denied permission.
But it could be a separate issue. |

12:20 pm 16th July We can still use public foot paths. At the microraid a couple of weeks ago I was told by the police had been forwarded a letter from the landowners saying they didn't want us on their land. They didn't give a reason.
When we entered on the first raid, we did it with the permission of the staff present on the farm (who may not have included the actual owner) and with police supervision. The landowner is unlikely to have been aware of our presence.
If we're to have a decent chance of getting permission in the future we'll have to contact the actual landowner directly, so if #5882 could identify them we could start the ball rolling. |

7:36 pm 16th July Definently behind getting this one sorted. Post any info you get. I'm currently trying to find phone number for the Deers Leap track owners, and in turn ask them for the land owner > onward questions. |

3:14 pm 17th July Ask the guys on enturb who were trying to sort out the failed RockAnon project, as they already have the contact details of all the landowners in the vicinity. |

2:20 pm 24th July #6412, probably N. Does England have right to roam legislation? but there is a public footpath so we'll be able to get there. it'll just take a little longer.
Idea: there will be quite a few of us. Rather than leave the main gate unmolested while we circle the drain, why not split the group in two and go round at different times. |

2:22 pm 24th July We don't need landowners permission for the footpath, so we don't need the landowners permission.
Trollcannon? |

3:45 pm 24th July Right to roam does not apply. http://www.openaccess.gov.uk/wps/portal/!ut/p/_s.7_0_A/7_0_GS/.cmd/acd/.ar/sa.map/.pm/-/.c/6_3_1EU/.ce/7_3_312/.p/5_3_2H9/.d/7#7_3_312
There is a public footpath nearby (next to the hockey club), but I imagine we wouldn't be allowed to stray from it without permission. |
