1: don't protest within a mile from the Parliament. Reccomended area, piccadilly circus, leicester square, oxford street, covent garden.

Not covent garden. It pisses off the street performers as they perform their 1 trick set and make their 'squeaky sound of cheap asses leaving' joke. NEAR covent garden is a good idea, dianetic leaflets were found there.

2. Look around and cater to the audience. At large protests it's more normal to turn inward and focus on each other. In small groups it's much more important to turn outward, show your signs, and actively engage the public. We had loads of audience at times because we were interesting, but not always enough signs showing to tell them what the hell we were about. A lot of them probably left with the impression we were a stag party...

3. Moar flyers (and/or bringing flyer files on usb sticks for impromptu flyer runs.) It was a real shame that we had nothing left in the end of the day, there were several people really interested and wanting to join the next protest. I sent them to xenu.net as that's the easiest to remember, hopefully they'll find their way to the activism sites.

Guise, print off some www.youfoundthecard.com cards!
It's a lot less confusing than xenu.net.
