Pre-Game Hug Raid
London, UK
Given the success of the April Hug Raid a week prior to April 12th in disseminating information to the public, I feel a similar event ahead of May's protest on the 10th is called for.
Now, I suspect that there will likely be more Anons interested in attending following April's success. The group size we had on the 5th, of 12-15, was just about right, so therefore I suggest if we do get a significant turnout, we use the numbers to split and cover a larger area of London. How we do this depends largely on numbers, but I feel the important areas to flier are: Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden, Camden. As before, to avoid excess paperwork, we should stay away from Westminster and the SOCPA zone. But we can review this as we have ample time to put in a SOCPA request. To avoid any problems, I recommend that this time, we stay away from actively demonstrating outside either of the London Orgs, and instead focus on informing the public, rather than enturbulating the CoS. In the higher trafficked areas, we probably want to be spending at least half an hour at each. My suggestion therefore is meet at Speakers Corner in Hyde Park at 11am. We will wait for latefags until about 11:30, then press on. We will aim to finish by 6pm, then go to the pub for debrief and beer. Pub location will remain secret until the day of the operation. Please bring: Fliers, "Free Hugs" signs and be prepared to answer questions from the public about CoS and why we are protesting them. If you have a boombox or megaphone, that'd be very handy. Avoid bringing massive banners and much in the way of placards as there's going to be a lot of moving about and you need to be hug-accessible. Do remember to bring water and snacks also. I will contact the Police to check re: permissions. If things are the same as last time then we should be fine.
